Overdose D'Amore (The Ballads) Review
07/13/2005 6:34 AM, AMG
Italian singer Zucchero made his name in his homeland largely working with blues-inflected material, but Overdose d'Amore: The Ballads showcases a rather different side. Zucchero demonstrates on this compilation of previously released material that he can also hold his own as an emotional, adult contemporary-style pop balladeer, taking on duet partners like Sting, Sheryl Crow, and even Luciano Pavarotti. It may not be quite as distinctive as his more typical sound, but Overdose d'Amore may serve to highlight a side that's more accessible to some listeners. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
