Let It Bleed
01/01/1969 3:00 AM, LAUNCH Tristram Lozaw
As a coda to Brian Jones's life and the 1960s, Let It Bleed is perhaps the ultimate Stones album. A rock epiphany, it includes "Gimme Shelter," "Midnight Rambler," "You Can't Always Get What You Want," a back-porch stomp rewrite of "Honky Tonk Women" and a definitive "Love In Vain." Recording had already started when Brian Jones quit and was replaced by Mick Taylor.
