Dirty Work
01/01/1986 3:00 AM, LAUNCH Tristram Lozaw
The '80s Stones continue to define roots-leaning hard rock, with help from producer Steve Lillywhite (U2), without expanding the scope--a tack the younger Stones would never stand for but fitting for maturing rockers. Meanwhile, the tensions between Mick (solo ambitions) and Keith at the time infect the album with impulsive "bad boy," who-gives-a-fuck energy. Memorable songs include a theft of Bob & Earl's "Harlem Shuffle."
